Starting her modeling career at the tender age of ten years old, this Puerto Rican beauty is our new Miss American Teen Ambassador, Ilannis Nicole Diaz Varela.  Hailing from the city of Arecibo, Ilannis has modeled for top designers in Puerto Rico and has won modeling industry special recognition awards, including Top Model and Top Teen Model.  In her free time, she loves to go to the beach. But, her true love and passion is for art, specifically painting.  Her favorite mediums are acrylic and oil.  

As the face of Miss American Teen to Latin America and the Caribbean, Ilannis graciously accepted her new title as both a spokesmodel and rolemodel to millions of young women across the Western Hemisphere.  This ambitious 16 year old is a top student and advocates for sexual abstinence for tweens and teens, who she feels should focus on their studies and preparing for their life goals. She says, "We should focus on our studies, our goals. Then if we have fulfilled our dreams, we can be mothers if we wish."  With a level head on her shoulders and a bright and charming personality, his young lady is sure to land on top of the world.
